Trey August Fort, 27, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at his home in Osage City.
Trey August Fort was born February 24, 1994 in Emporia, the son of Dennis Ray and Peggy (Teichgraeber) Fort. He graduated from Osage City High School in 2012 and attended Emporia State University.
Trey attended Osage City schools and was proud to be an Osage City Indian. He was a standout athlete participating in football, basketball, and baseball. He was 1st Team All State class 3A linebacker and a first team All-League basketball player. He attended Emporia State University and participated on the ESU football team. After his playing days, Trey enjoyed supporting the Osage Indian athletes. Trey loved fishing, corn hole, the lake and always up for a good time with family and friends. Trey was always willing to help anyone and give a helping hand as he volunteered at Harvesters and ECKAN. He never knew a stranger and greeted you with a friendly smile.
Trey will be forever remembered by his parents, Dennis and Peggy Fort of Osage City; a sister, Paige (Ethan) Michael of Vassar; two brothers, Duncan Fort of Emporia and Gunnar Fort of Osage City; his maternal grandmother, MaryAnn (Sam) Kraft of Emporia; a nephew, Leon Michael and two nieces, Adaline and Olivia Michael; step maternal grandmother, Jeannie Teichgraeber. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Fern Fort; maternal grandpa Jerry Teichgraeber and a cousin, Donna Manchester.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. Visitation will be held Friday evening, February 18, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trey A. Fort Memorial Fund to be designated for purchase of gymnasium chairs or OCHS scholarship fund and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
