Helen Frances “Grams” Treuax, 79, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at her home south of Hartford, Kansas. She was born Helen Frances Doney on February 20, 1941 in Harlem, Montana the daughter of Walter and Mae Morin Doney. Helen married Leslie Allmond Trueax on July 4, 1959. During the early years of marriage they lived in Billings, Montana and later in Bozeman and Plains. They were later divorced. During the 1980’s. Helen worked at Washoe Park in Anaconda, Montana. She moved to Ottawa. Kansas in 1989. Helen moved to Burlington, Kansas before settling in Hartford in 2008. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved her family beyond limits. She loved to travel and often took bus trips to surprise family. She will live on in the hearts and memories of her daughters, Stephanie Turner of Hartford, Ks. and Truda Mitchell and her husband Al Schaffer of Rantoul, Ks. And Kari Trueax of Missoula, Montana; a son, Guy Trueax of Long Island, California; sisters, Elaine Beckman of Linwood, Washington, Ann Flury Kittytas, Washington and Marilyn Hensley; a brother, Rodney Gardipee of Eugene, Oregon; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters, Jacqueline and Christine in infancy; a sister, Patricia LaTray and a brother Walter Doney, Jr. Cremation has taken place and memorial services are scheduled for 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Condolences may be expressed vanarsdalefs.com.
