Arthur Thomas Linsey, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Yates Center Health and Rehab Center. He was born June 10, 1934 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Clarence and Laura Jones Linsey. Arthur attended Lebo High School and graduated with the Class of 1952. As a young man Arthur rode bulls and broncs in rodeos. He would eventually start his own racing horse stable. He owned and trained Quarter Horses and Thorobreds throughout Nebraska, Oklahoma and Kansas for 50 years. Arthur also worked for 34 years at Bunge in Emporia. Arthur married Barbara Arb in 1958. They later divorced after 54 years of marriage. He will live on in the hearts of his daughters, Brenda Johnson of Emporia, Joyce Carson and her husband Roy of Lebo, Lisa Keith and her husband Brian of Allen and Carol Upshaw of Emporia; son Arthur Gene Linsey and his wife Wendy of Admire; sisters, Margaret Halstead in Arizona and Martha Wright; brothers, Ronald Linsey of Lebo and Clarence Linsey of Olathe; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Inurnment will follow services at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 6:30 P.M., Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emporia Friends of The Zoo and sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
